In the meantime, most special is a series of shoes inspired by Felloni’s pre-pandemic trip to Japan and the square-shaped geta sandals he saw there. The style wouldn’t come into production until after the pandemic hit, a period during which Felloni spent ample time out of doors, watching his garden come into bloom for the first time. “Usually, I don’t have this luxury,” he explains. But the realities of lockdown meant observing the changing of the seasons—and from there, a floral fantasy bloomed.“I was sketching the flowers at my desk and then our design team said we should do something with these!” The flower studies ended up on a couple of sandals and handbags, hand-painted by artisans Felloni had to source for the occasion. “We’re a small brand,” he says. “We can put in this level of artistry and craftsmanship into everything that we do.”Painted on silk satin, shoes from the Flower Blossom collection are just as lovely as a walk in the garden. Or, should you be more interested in night-on-the-town vibes, may we recommend a gleaming patent mule with a buckle that’s as eye-catching as it is easy to wear? All these, and more, below.
Marine Serre’s most recent collection for the fall 2021 season, called Core, was a testament to the garments and materials the brand had been creating since its inception three years ago. “The collection is essentially a blueprint of all that Serre has accomplished since she launched the label,” explains Vogue’s Mark Holgate in his show review. In 53 looks, Serre revisited many of her labels’s signatures: regenerated denim, upcycled knits, silk moiré, and, of course, the instantly recognizable crescent moon print that has been synonymous with the brand. It was a collection that had everyone eager for fall, the soonest we could get our hands on it—or so we thought. In a surprise move, the french designer partnered up with The Webster to deliver an exclusive collection of core pieces; only these are done up in the retailer’s signature color, flamingo pink. In the capsule are six of Serre’s most iconic and cherished pieces, including her moon-print second-skins tops and shirts crafted from regenerated silk scarves.
“Our clients are absolutely enamored with Marine Serre’s styles each season,” says Laure Hériard Dubreuil, CEO and founder of The Webster. As the three-year-old brand evolves and grows, Dubreil explains that her customers have developed a loyal following for “Serre’s futuristic approach and passion for sustainability.”Victoria Beckham’s Spice Girls days are a thing of the past, but the designer still loves a cheeky throwback moment from time to time. These days, her style is still very much Posh. She’s recreated some of her beauty looks from that era, when she was known for being a singer and wearing little black Gucci dresses. This weekend, however, Beckham played dress up and paid homage to another Spice Girls member—one with polar-opposite style, no less.
